Please stand strong for Colorado citizens and reject all partisan proposals to enact gerrymandered District borders! Please adopt the legislative proposal, not the partisan proposal!

Hello,
My concern in this process is fairness.
The nonpartisan, neutral redistricting staff have submitted their final set of legislative maps to the commission. Unfortunately two Republican commissioners are working with non-disclosing and unregistered GOP operatives to shove through a last minute set of maps to the Supreme Court that would fundamentally alter the makeup of the state Senate and House, almost certainly ensuring control by Republicans over the next decade.
Please insist on transparency and reject maps that could undermine a fair process.

I urge you to reject any legislative maps not drawn by the nonpartisan staff. The point of this process is intended to be free of partisan gerrymandering and attempts to submit maps guaranteeing one party dominance cannot be acceptable in this process.

Do not let undisclosed lobbyists and republicans gerrymander our Colorado legislative maps!

Comment:
It is my understanding that the legislative redistricting staff have proposed a set of legislative maps to the Commission that would be fair and representative. It is my further understanding that Commissioners Barnett and Kottwitz are pushing revisions to these maps, backed by non-disclosing political groups and unregistered operatives representing republican interests, to try to maximize republican advantage in this process. The voters of Colorado enacted the redistricting commission process expressly to remove this kind of partisan game-playing from redistricting. I urge the commission to stick to the staff maps, rather than giving in to partisan gerrymandering efforts by undisclosed, unreported interests. All legislative districts should be nearly equal in population, fairly represent communities of interest to the greatest extent possible, be drawn without regard to maximizing any party advantage or disadvantaging any party, and competitive.

Please reject the proposed map that would benefit Republicans.

The Republicans in Colorado know that if they're going to have even a semblance of power in this state to push through their voting restrictions and white supremacist rhetoric, they're going to have to game the system. Please don't let them do that. Let the voters of Colorado decide who we want to vote for, instead of allowing the candidates do decide who gets to vote for them.

Please stick with the redistricting recommendations of the independent committee. I firmly support the transparent and unbiased approach that represents.

I understand that two of the Republican commissioners on the commissions are pushing a set of new maps that seriously favor the Republican Party. I urge you to reject these maps and remain centered on a more neutral set.

I have submitted previously and watched this process closely. It was my conclusion, the Democrats and Independents have bee working diligently to move the process forward in line with the guidelines for objectivity. However, certain Republican members of bot Commissions have worked to gain a minority advantage or disrupt the process on an ongoing basis. Please stay the course and do right by the State of Colorado.
