The constituents of the state of Colorado want fair and transparent voting districts which give fair voting rights to every citizen.

Please stand for transparency by rejecting any maps that could be tarnished by the ongoing, unreported lobbying to gerrymander legislative districts. Please reject the maps being pushed by Commissioners Barnett and Kottwitz and support maps drawn by nonpartisan commission. We wanted an independent commission to re-draw the maps, and this is what we got. Please do not undermine the hard work and time that the volunteers that were on the commission did for our State.

Republican legislative Redistricting Commissioners Hunter Barnett (R) and Aislinn Kottwitz (R) are working with non-disclosing and unregistered GOP operatives lobbying to shove through a last-minute set of maps to the Supreme Court that would fundamentally alter the make-up of the state senate and house, almost certainly ensuring control for Colorado Republicans over the next decade. This is a mockery of everything that Independent Redistricting Commissions are meant to stand for.
It is imperative that these maps being proposed by Hunter Barnett and Asilinn Kottwitz be rejected.

Please accept the nonpartisan maps and also demand transparency from those who try to change that outcome.
Thank you.

My husband and I have lived in Erie for the past fifteen years.
I support the final set of legislative maps submitted on Tuesday by the independent redistricting staff.
I am shocked that two Redistricting Commissions Hunter Barnett and Aislinn Kottwitz are attempting to push through a last-minute set of maps to the Supreme Court. This attempt refutes Colorado voters desire for an independent Redistricting Commission.
Please reject maps being pushed by Commisioners Barnett and Kottwitz and support maps drawn by nonpartisan staff.
Thank you

I am very concerned that there are people working right now to undermine the non-partisan Redistricting Commission.
According the the Secretary of State's records (https://www.sos.state.co.us/pubs/elections/VoterRegNumbers/2021/August/VotersByPartyStatus.pdf)
Unaffiliated voters outnumber Democrats, and Dems outnumber Republicans. So efforts to equally distribute representation between Dems and Republicans is wrong-headed. And it's crazy to accept maps from people who are looking to achieve Republican control.
But apparently that's what's happening. Please reject maps pushed by Commissioners Barnett and Kottwitz and support maps drawn by nonpartisan staff.
I continue to believe competitive districts, which is referenced at least five times in the law, is the goal. The issue in our country today can be summed up in one word: polarization. If we want to find our way back to unity, it will require competition of ideas, not safe districts.
How will we explain to the people of Colorado how Republicans seized the process and pushed through maps favoring the party that has less registered voters?
Sincerely,
Susan Knopf

Dear Sirs and Madams,

I urge you to please reject maps being pushed by Commissioners Barnett and Kottwitz and support maps drawn by nonpartisan staff.
Please take a stand for transparency by asking the CO Supreme Court to reject any maps that could be tarnished by the ongoing, unreported lobbying to gerrymander legislative districts for the GOP.
Thank you.

I understand that two Republican commissioners, Hunter Barnett and Aislinn Kottwitz are at the last minute trying to change the maps being presented to the court for approval. They are working with undisclosed GOP operatives who have not registered as lobbyists to favor the maps toward the GOP.
If you allow these changes, this will taint the process which was supposed to be nonpartisan and transparent. Please keep the maps that were drawn by the nonpartisan staff and don’t allow changes out of the public process.
Thank you for your consideration,
Pam Gail

It was recently brought to my attention that Commissioners Barnett and Kottwitz are promoting maps that have been drawn by lobbyists. I urge you to take a stand for transparency by rejecting any maps that could be tarnished by the ongoing, unreported lobbying to gerrymander legislative districts for the benefit of the GOP. please be sure to submit and support the maps drawn by nonpartisan committee staff.
