Please reject maps being pushed by Commissioners Barnett and Kottwitz and support maps drawn by nonpartisan staff. The commissions credibility rests on this. Thank you!

Living in rural Teller county, I feel that the 3rd Staff Plan for the state legislature redistricting reflects my communities of interest. I live in an intermountain area with strong ties to the front range. The 3rd Staff Plan is a good compromise plan that represents the diversity of Colorado.
Sincerely, Wendy Dillenschneider, Ph. D.

Please do not allow Republican partisans' dishonest attempt to redraw districts to put themselves back in power. There's a reason they are not currently in power: they don't have the right ideas or vision of the future to attract a majority of voters. So they resort to what they do best: cheating.
Commissioner Barnett and Kottwitz need to come up with a better strategy than cheating by drawing maps that would produce minority rule. Democrats should not be at a disadvantage by doing the right thing and setting up a non-partisan committee to draw competitive maps.
Whatever happened to fair play? That's a bedrock American value.
And by the way, Joe Biden won the free and fair election of 2020. Empirically-derived truth is also an American value, even if Republicans have abandoned it.

Colorado has passed a law regarding redistributing that requires it be free of political posturing and gerrymandering. Two GOP commissioners have submitted a plan contrary to that law.
Reject dishonest, non-transparent Republican gerrymandering. We demand transparency and neutrality.
Republicans do not get to pick their voters. Neither do Democrats, but in today’s politics the Republicans are dishonest and threaten democracy. They will not even accept the recent Presidential election. They and their anonymous sponsors have no place interfering in the neutral commission setting district lines.

Comment:
I am concerned about Republican partisan gerrymandering in the state legislature promoted by Commissioners Barnett and Kottwitz. Transparency is needed in this process. They should not be able to use undisclosed and unregistered lobbyists to lock up the Colorado state legislature for Republicans. The will of the voters needs to be respected. These gerrymandered maps recently introduced should not be used. Maps by the nonpartisan staff should be supported.

Please do not allow undisclosed/illegal lobbying to affect the non-partisan maps that have been submitted by staff. Let's return to a democracy based on fair and open elections.

I am one of many people who applied to be, but was not selected, a commissioner on the redistricting commissioners. The form asked about political affiliation, but made it clear that all efforts would be made to assure that the Commissions would be balanced. To now see the decidedly Republican tilt of the maps that have been developed is insulting to all of us who believed the process would be fair.
You should be ashamed to call yourselves non-partisan.
