Why have a voter created state constitutional redistricting convention for fair districts IF REPUBLICANS ignore and override it?! Republican corruption and gerrymandering is the reason the commission was created. Their ideas only survive if there is no intelligent opposition. Drawing balanced districts allows the free market of ideas to flourish and ignorance, stupidity, and fools fail, ie today's Trump lead Republicans.

Hi,
I am writing to express my concern that re-districting maps should fairly represent how Coloradans vote. It my opinion the maps should reflect one person one vote as accurately as possible. It is not fair to have one person’s vote count less than another persons vote because of their political affiliation. Ideally, each should be a rectangle with only minor changes to the rectangle to accommodate population requirements.

I just heard that there is a move by several Republican representatives to over-rule the re-districting newest map for Colorado that was done by a non-partisan committee. I'm irate! Why did the committee of 12 work on three different maps in a fair way for several Republicans to try to overturn these results. The newest map, in my opinion, resembled the Dem in majority district outcome that we already have in the state-i.e. one more district that is Dem than Repulican. The 8th (new) district looks like it will be a toss up which is also fair. Please listen to those of us that don't like this last minute ridiculous interference. Ann Campbell

The people of Colorado spoke when they approved a nonpartisan commission to analyze and propose redistricting maps for the purposes of all state and federal elections. I urge you to reject maps being pushed by Commissioners Barnett and Kottwitz and support maps drawn by nonpartisan staff.

I urge you to support the maps drawn by nonpartisan staff. The objective of the Independent Redistricting Commission is to eliminate, or at least minimize, the narrow focus of partisan interference and to create districts that are based on shared interest, policy concerns, geography, and in some instances, to compensate for racial imbalance.
