being a Colorado native in agricultural my entire life from the dairy industry with my parents to know cow/ calf operation and farm with our five children. Those of us in agriculture are stewards of the land to produce the most wholesome nutritious products while taking care of of the animals and land so they take care of us. We’re always operating under the best practices we possibly can. how is it that someone that has not walked in your shoes has absolutely no experience can dictate and tell us how to be efficient yet make the decisions for us? Our occupation is purely based on experience heart dedication put yourself last do its best at all cost living under environmental conditions most would give up but those are the ones that think they can tell us what to do. Being in agriculture you must be independent as each and every operation has its own challenges from the land to the family dynamics to the crop they produce and to their operating beliefs but there’s one thing for sure someone that has not walked in her shoes has no idea or credibility. I find it is another way to control those that are self-sufficient it’s easy to pick on the farmer they always do nobody goes after doctors nurses teachers government agencies the restaurant industry those are all corporate why is the American farmer always approached around the corner wondering what will be taken away from them. This will not only ruin Colorado agriculture It will ruin colorado families that purchase our products because the farmer won’t be able to make it and most importantly it will ruin the Colorado farmer family that build their families operation to hand down to the next generation!

I would like to express my opposition to the proposed new Districts 2 & 4 (from Sept. 3). My objections for both are the same. Both have a cosmopolitan, fast growing, high tech city paired with a rural area. The needs of a city versus a rural area--economic, cultural, social--could not be more different. It would be difficult for a representative to address the needs of one area without possibly damaging the needs of the other or even being attentive to the other. They are not communities of interest. As a case in point, I live in Fort Collins. The city is no longer the center of agriculture it once was. Sheep are no longer herded through town, the sugar beet fields and factory are long gone, as well as their workers, and the cherry orchards were destroyed in a late frost, never to return. Today we are a fast growing, cosmopolitan small city with growing pains. Our issues are urban poverty, affordable housing and homelessness, infrastructure, hi tech industry and commerce, residential water, flooding and urban/rural interface wildfire concerns to name a few. These are not issues for the eastern plains, whose residents have their own legitimate concerns. As a small point to demonstrate, would a representative whose votes are derived largely from rural farming/ranching areas, be attentive to the needs of an Afghani refugee who takes refuge in Fort Collins? Perhaps not. Fort Collins was once part of District 4 and it was a relief to be put in District 2, along with Boulder, for the last decade. We would hope that could continue. We want to be represented!

I would like to know why you did this on a holiday week? Already short by one day and then nothing to be heard on Friday. You aren't trying to better Colorado you are selling Colorado off to the highest bidder. I am ashamed and appalled of the over reach of the Democrat party..

These rural districts need to stay while to have fair representation If we are to have suitable representation in Washington DC of our state.

What you are doing is just wrong, you need to keep communities with common interests together, like Garfield and Mesa, communities that identify with each other.

As a former Colorado State Trooper (retired), I want to object to any redistricting that reduces the voices of remote areas of Colorado and gives more voice to those on the front range or Denver Metro Area!!! The concerns of those who live in the Metro Areas of Colorado are much different than those who live smaller towns and cities across this State, but that was their choice to live there. Do not infringe upon our Second Amendment Rights no matter where you live or how you think things should be!! The biggest problem you have is not guns, it is not enforcing the Laws already on the books, the lack of Police Funding, releasing violent crime offenders from prison too early, as well as a long list that have contributed to Metro Areas not feeling safe. Guns aren't the problem. It is more a lack of good leadership from District Attorneys, to some others in positions of authority all across this State & this Country. You "leaders" need to step up and take the time to learn the problems that lead to lawlessness, riots, theft, and crime in general. What is being taught to our kids? K-12 they're taught Critical Race Theory, and to discriminate against each other. Oh, that's real smart stuff right there... give those teachers a raise? No, they should be Fired!! If you guys insist on starting a Civil War, I can't stop you. You get to live with it...

I am a Summit County resident concerned that the staff proposal would divide our small mountain county into two Congressional Districts. This would dilute our voice in Congress. I could support the staff proposal if the entire county were included in the proposed 7th or 2nd Congressional District. Our county as a whole is a community sharing many common interests. One of those interests is the I-70 corridor. I-70 is a common interest for the staff proposed 7th District as well as for the staff proposed 2nd Congressional District. Rural Colorado deserves a voice in our state. My community's interests are different than many of my urban and suburban neighbors-- their voice is always heard and valued. Unfortunately, rural Colorado does not have that luxury. Please consider keeping rural voices together and strong. When looking at different policy, especially in agriculture, heath care, and infrastructure, rural Colorado has different needs than Colorado Springs or Boulder. When you start grouping one of the most rural counties in Colorado and urban areas, the voices of diversity are muffled. To make the map more equitable, rural areas should be respected and given a voice to share their interests and unite as a community. Thank you for your work on this.

Looks like Western CO gets sliced and diced. Rural, ranching and outdoor culture gets diluted to point of irrelevance. If this is approved then folks in NW Colorado will be represented by a very liberal Boulder Democrat. Really??

I appose redistricting.
