The spliting of the Western Slope of Colorado and putting NW Colorado in with BOULDER is a insult to the people of Western Colorado. It does not preserve competitive districts and is robs a large number of rural citizens of ANY representation in Congress! Shame on this committee! Shame on Colorado! THIS IS JUST ANOTHER PARTISAN GERRYMANDERING JOB! ITS WRONG!

Reviewing the new redistricting map, again, I think Pitkin County would be better served in either the 7th or 2nd CD.

Thanks for your work on this effort and for doing such a great job of reaching out and incorporating public input into the New First Staff Plan Map. I support dividing the western slope into north and south districts. However, after studying that map and the Amended LULAC map I am now in strong support of the LULAC map. It keeps the north/south divide. It keeps the I-70 corridor communities and tourism communities intact. It makes both districts more competitive. It does not put urban Boulder in with western slope communities. It does put Ft. Collins, an agriculturally based community, and Grand Junction both in CD3 north. They have much more in common than Boulder does with the rest of the north western slope. Keeping the Colorado watershed intact as a district is important as well. Having two voices in Congress represent west slope and public lands issues would be hugely helpful as so much public land impacts both proposed districts. I like the concentration of latino communities that likely have shared interests and concerns. I like that Colorado Springs is kept out of the new proposals as it has too many differences from west slope communities to share our concerns. Keep working in the direction you are going. Please take the LULAC proposed amendment seriously as it has much to offer and no apparent downsides. Looking forward to new Districts!

Sirs/Ma’am’s, Teller County has a distinct need to diversify its views and the new congressional district maps does an outstanding job of this. The addition of Jefferson County with Park and Chafee ensures our rural AND metropolitan interests are well represented. Thank you for making Colorado inclusive and diverse at the same time. The proposed map leans way too far to the advantage of Colo democrats, Should consider a better plan for Douglas, Jefferson and El Paso counties

Fort Collins should remain in District 4. For many years, Fort Collins has become more aligned with Boulder. We are not a community with Weld County as evidenced by their response to COVID-19. I feel that if we are lumped with them I will no longer be represented.

We on the western slope of Colorado are divided by the Rocky Mountains, but we are also divided in our political views. Tying us with any metropolitan area of the front range is bizarre, we haven't the same view of what our lives are about. There are many would like to congregate the area of the western slope with those that have immigrated from more liberal areas of the country to the front range. Keep us separate with a separate voice with our government. Thank you, Stephen McKee

Please don’t diminish the voice of the rural eastern plains.

I am against the redistricting of my community, as the existing map is more reflective of what is common among us. Fort Collins is a progressive city, incorporating progressive ideas that unite ourselves and our ideas. Redistricting would dilute the strength, ideals, and growth currently helping the city thrive and better preparing us for the future.

The preliminary congressional map released in June is the best and fairest plan to date. Please do not divide the western slope.
