I would like to encourage the congressional redistricting commission to return to the original proposed redistricting map. This map provided competitive and fair districts in Colorado and was fair to everyone. This new map disenfranchises the western slope and many people around the state. By grouping Jefferson county with 8 other counties disenfranchises many voters in those areas. I also would like to mention that in CD7 you put a metropolitan county, Jeffco, with a large group of rural communities. Jefferson County and Douglas County should be together in Congressional District 7. Not the other way around that you have proposed. I highly encourage you to return to the original map for the sake of all Coloradans and for the sake of competitive and fair districts. Please hear our comments on this and make the change that is right for colorado, no the partisan choice, the fair and right choice where everyone has a fair shot.

The Western Slope should not be split up. To do so is to dilute the voice of Western Colorado to the point of total disenfranchisement. The Metro areas do not share nor understand the issues of Western Colorado. Please retain all of western Colorado in one district.

Dear Commissioners, If it wasn't broke, why fix it? What now supposedly links Boulder with Grand Junction as communities of interest? How can they even interact, given recent (and future) closures of I-70? Why have you split the Western Slope folks into two Congressional Districts, reducing the concerns of its residents, and favoring city folk? Why have you seemingly bowed down to those who have cried out for Gerrymandered Districts to supposedly favor ethnicities, when your first map showed relatively compact districts? Commissioners, please return to your original, well thought-out, map, not the Gerrymandered travesty which we now have before us!

Hello, I hear the congressional redistricting committee has moved Fort Collins, the county seat of Larimer County, out of the Larimer County district to the district including Weld County and the eastern plains. I do not think this is a good idea. Fort Collins and CSU are interested in more environmental industries (wild fire mitigation, solar energy, water restoration, etc.) as contrasted with the oil and gas industries of Weld County. Eastern Colorado is agricultural, while Fort Collins is more tourist based with the breweries, recreation month Poudre River, and events in Old Town and CSU. If the goal of redistricting is to keep like communities together, it seems more reasonable to keep Fort Collins with the rest of Larimer County and front range communities such as Boulder and Boulder County. These communities are much more similar to Fort Collins than eastern, rural Colorado. Please reconsider the redistricting map. Thank you, Wendy Jones

I was first happy that we would have an independent commission to redraw our congressional seats for the US house and the State legislator. However I am NOT happy with what you have recently released the first map had issues BUT it was way better than what you have presented this time. When the first map came out I knew the Democrats in boulder and Denver were going to have a cow with what you have done. They did and Obviously you have been bought out by them. You are SUPPOSE to be an independent redistricting commission not a Democrat redistricting commission. You have gerrymandered the maps just like the Democrats would have done in the State legislator you have drawn EVERY district to have little slivers reaching into other congressional districts. Gerrymandering is not fair YOU are a Independent Redistricting Commission you were not suppose to gerrymander the congressional districts. You need to un gerrymander the districts. First map had issues but we can deal with it if that is the map you chose.

We need a FAIR districting. The Denver area is ultimately a small part of our state. DO NOT give it all the power.

We are pleased to submit the attached public comment, which suggests several potential improvements to the First Staff Plan Map that can inform a northern 2nd Congressional and southern 3rd Congressional that best reflect shared communities of interest on the ground and increase the competitiveness of both districts simultaneously. This comment includes a suggested map. We thank the Commission for its consideration and work on behalf of all Coloradans.

Please keep the western slope whole with a population that balances independent thought and community through our diversity.

We must keep our rural districts whole to have fair representation in our state.

Hello - Gunnison County and San Miguel County are hopelessly stuck with other counties in the Western Slope who do not represent our needs in the past and probably ever. Since this is the case here, I don't want to hear any whining about L. Boebert being in with Boulder in the same district. Everyone has to accept this as reality - I think the redistricting is fair.
