We are a rural, tight knit community who does not want to be redistricted with the urban centers who could sway decisions affecting rural Colorado.

Dear Commissioners:
I have viewed the most recent re-districting map, and I am disappointed at the significant degeneration of District 3. By this most recent change, you have joined much of rural Colorado to metropolitan areas, which will silence the voices, the concerns, the traditions of the true pioneer Westerner. Why? Do you really think a professor in Boulder understands or can identify with the concerns of a sheep rancher? Owning a rurally based business is much different than owning a business in a metropolitan area.
The idea of representative government is the voice of each citizen is heard, not just the cluster of population around heavily populated areas. This is unfair and unwise. Colorado has a unique voice. It is a voice that has a proud, diverse heritage. Do not silence the most vested voice in our state.
Sincerely,
Karin Reitz

The redistricting map shows Weld County to be separated into two districts, 4 and 8. Why is Weld Co separated into two districts? This makes no sense. Keep all of Weld together in one district. We have no want to be included with the liberal folks in Adams and Broomfield Counties, e.g, Arvada, Broomfield, Thornton, and Westminster. All of Weld has shared interests and those are not shared with the folks mentioned above.

I live in Grand Junction and support the updated version of the redistricting map issued on September 3. I think this map will be much better for our area, making races here more competitive. We really need that.
Thanks for all your hard work.

The redistricting effort by the commission is trying to ignore the
interests of rural Colorado. I am asking the commission to draw fair redistricting maps to benefit all Coloradans.

Please stop trying to place Douglas County where it doesn’t belong. We need to be kept WHOLE in Metro Denver. We are not rural, and we are one county with common interests. The maps that have been drawn so far are ridiculous. We have become a little more blue in recent years, so stick us in a little more competitive place. Seriously though, we are in the metro area and have concerns that a rural area doesn’t so we belong in an area with constituents like us.

Being from rural eastern Colorado the new map is the biggest slap in the face all rural coloradoans. The metro areas of Fort Collins will decide my representative. The previous map was much fairer than this map is.
Communities of interest mean recreational, employment, landscape, belief systems and with the exception of district 1 the rest of the map looks like a 1st grade coloring contest.

I live in Douglas County near I-25 and Lincoln Ave. My entire life is involved around the Denver metro area. Yet, I am
represented in congress by someone from Colorado's eastern plains. I don't feel I am represented in C4. Douglas County is front range-it's 20 miles south of Denver! Please don't include it the same district again!
