I'm very concerned about the calls for Danny Moore's removal as chair of the Congressional Redistricting committee. An independent committee that picked it's own chair needs to stay independent and keep outside influences out of their realm. Any time a chair of a non-partisan group is identified as part of a political party (even though political party representation was a requirement of the role), the other side will have something negative to say. I'm sure that this is the first of many complaints that the public will see of this group. The chair has no more authority than anyone else in the group. It's ridiculous that the fighting has begun already before any real work has begun. I'm sure there are several members that are registered as independent that were members of one party at one time or another. Does that mean they aren't really independent? Maybe. But maybe we should see the outcome before we pass judgement.

I am not a resident of Colorado, but have known Mr Moore for over 30 years! His integrity and devotion to everything he does sets an example for others to follow! We need more community leaders of his caliber and commitment!

There is no room for bigotry or conspiracy theories anywhere in America, let alone on Colorado’s inaugural Independent Congressional Redistricting Commission. Danny Moore, the current chair of the commission, has not only promoted the notion that Democrats "stole" the last presidential election, but has repeatedly used vile and bigoted rhetoric to characterize COVID-19 and the broader AAPI community since the start of the pandemic. I urgently call upon this body to remove Danny Moore from his position immediately. Surely there are other leaders, conservative/moderate/progressive who are equally qualified to lead this body without the racist and bigoted track record of the current chair.

I am very concerned about current chair Danny Moore. The current commission chair has not only perpetuated harmful anti-Asian rhetoric, he doubled down on his opinions and statements even as hate crimes against the community continue rising. "China virus" is more than words, it's a slogan muttered before Asian elders are attacked and killed. "China virus" was painted on vandalized homes of my friends and some businesses here in Colorado from Highlands Ranch, to Lakewood, to Fort Collins. It is NOT about offending people, it is about the actual blood, fear, and destruction that came as a result of these words. It cannot be normal for our leaders, especially a leader of an independent commission, to perpetuate this. We cannot normalize this rhetoric. It is foundational for bias-motivated violence to exist. Words have consequences. Danny Moore perpetuated hateful speech and misinformation - and in a position of leadership and authority these words lead to actions that hurt the lives of the community. If he didn't take this responsibility seriously months ago, I do not have faith in his ability to make unbiased decisions for ALL Coloradans today.

I want to ensure that all voices on the committee are heard instead of the divisive political cancel campaign that is being led to silence certain voices on the committee. The point of the commission is to have all voices heard and represented but the democrat voices/party are trying to “cancel” a member of the committee I deeply respect and serve with on a non profit board with in Colorado. Danny Moore is a thoughtful, fair and principled man and the threats he is receiving is reprehensible and should not be tolerated.

It is exciting to see the cooperation from all sides in an effort to create the new district. I cannot think of a better leader than Danny Moore to lead this initiative.

I am writing regarding Danny Moore. I have known Danny Moore for several years and I am very familiar with his leadership abilities. You will not find a better person to chair this commission. He is knowledgeable, thorough, and inclusive. In my experience he carefully considers issues, seeks out and receives input from all interested persons, and makes well-considered decisions in light of such input. He is also dedicated and works very hard. As I said, you will not find anyone better than Danny Moore.
