Very concerned about Danny Moore being the chair of the Congressional Redistricting Commission. He has regularly questioned the legitimacy of the 2020 Presidential election results (hence questioning our democratic process, including the legitimacy of mail-in voting) when after multiple investigations there have been no pieces of evidence supporting such claims. He has also publicly made use of some very biased language and that certainly makes this individual not the unbiased leadership figure one would require of such a commission. Using terms like "Chinese virus" does not suit a leader of such a commission. Language like this has increasingly made lives harder and has caused further division, in this country of natives, settlers, and immigrants and is evident in recent rise of anti-Asian racist bias and attacks.

Comment:

Danny Moore should not have made it to the commission. It is supremely disappointing that the selection process did not include perusing candidates social media spaces. It is truly disheartening that a black man would espouse such racist comments as he has. He must be disqualified for his xenophobic and racist views and a new candidate selected. At the absolute minimum, he must relinquish his leadership role on the commission.

I am writing today to express my support for Danny Moore as chairman of the Colorado redistricting commission. I have known Danny Moore in a professional capacity for years and his ethics, leadership and commitment are unquestionable. The citizens of the state of Colorado will be well-served with his participation on the Colorado redistricting Commission.

Comment:

It has come to our attention that the current chairman of the Colorado Redistricting Committee, Danny Moore, has made disparaging comments that question his ability to lead in an impartial manner for the good of the people of Colorado. We find his comments about the Asian community and promoting false statements around the integrity of our elections completely disturbing, particularly since it led to violence in our capitol and the loss of life. Given the importance and significance of the redistricting process, we believe Danny Moore lacks the integrity to chair this process. We stand with the All on the Line and community members in their call for his resignation.

I have heard there has been some turmoil surrounding Danny Moore and his place on the commission. Danny Moore is a very good individual with a track record of standing up for what is right for people. As a Colorado small business owner who takes care of his employees by providing them with benefits such as fully paid health care, time off, and a great 401k matching plan he has shown that he cares about doing what is right for the people without regard to political pressure. The fact that he came up from his humble beginnings to owning his own business and wanting to provide his employees the benefits his family didnt have growing up goes to show the type of character he has when he could easily have tried to build his company while only providing minimal benefits to his employees goes to show the type of man he is.

I am writing to indicate my opposition to allowing outside groups to influence the makeup of the commission, specifically the attempt to remove Danny Moore from his position. The entire concept of the commission was to remove the direct influence of lobbying and political parties from the redistricting process, while allowing voices to be heard. If you allow one group to bully their preferred individuals or groups into or out of positions that have already been filled you will be undermining what little faith there is in the new system.

I understand there is an attempt to remove Danny Moore as Chair of the congressional redistributing committee. As a former staff member of the legislative reapportionment commission, I can attest that Danny Moore is exactly the type of chair we should all want on this commission. As a former military man and current business owner/government contractor, he has served this country honorably. He is a good and decent citizen who puts public service first. He will not kow-tow to public pressure and he will serve in that role with honor and fairness. Please keep him on as Chair. Sincerely, Haeley Paul Mowery

I was born in Denver and am a 3rd generation Japanese American, Christian, mother of two, LGBTQ+ ally . As an American and Coloradan, I value our fragile democracy, which we have seen in recent years to be in peril. Our way of life can only sustain itself by protecting our right to vote. Unfortunately, many of those in power across the country are fighting - and winning - to deny this right for the people they think will vote against them, which is the only way those in power can stay in power. Regardless of one's party affiliation, equal access to voting must be taken seriously and we must strive to make it easier - not harder - for people to vote. Based on the recently social media posts by Danny Moore, it is quite apparent that he is NOT qualified to serve on the Independent Congressional Redistricting Commission, much less be its chairman. He has denied the results of the 2020 presidential election and has a clear bias for one political party over the other. I am extremely concerned that his participation on the commission will be a detriment to its mission and to the citizens of Colorado and the country. Furthermore, his statement "...Chinese Virus. Nope not racist at all. It is a Nationality" displays that he is tone-deaf to racism and its contribution to the racist attacks and attitudes toward Asians and Asian Americans. He should resign or be dismissed.
