Please reject maps that are subject to undisclosed GOP lobbying and support nonpartisan staff plans. There is no legitimate reason behind the Kottwitz plan for hd52 and hd53.

Comment:

I write in support of the proposed congressional district maps drawn by non-partisan staff currently under consideration by the full board of commissioners. I oppose recent and ongoing last minute attempts at gerrymandering those maps by Commissioner Barnett and Kottwitz. Please keep the process transparent and vote to approve the staff recommendations which have gone through an extensive evaluation and public comment process. They are fair and equitable to all political parties. Note: this may be a duplicate comment. I'm resubmitting because I want it to apply to both Congressional and. Legislative redistricting.

Colorodans voted for TRANSPARENCY in redistricting. I urge you to respect Colorado voters and REJECT THE LATE ATTEMPT BY REPUBLICAN COMMISSIONERS Hunter Barnett and Aislinn Kottwitz, allegedly working with undisclosed GOP operatives/lobbyists, to push through a last ditch SUBMISSION OF STATE SENATE AND HOUSE MAPS intended to unfairly advantage their party. That smells of the political gerrymandering that Coloradans voted to end. I urge you to stand up for a fair and transparent process. Thank you for your hard work on this critically important issue.

Comment:

Legislative maps agreed upon by the commission and the public have been finalized, but commission members Barnett and Kottwitz, in league with Republican outside operatives, are planning to submit gerrymandered maps that will ensure Republican control of the Colorado legislature for the next decade. You must approve ONLY the maps submitted by the Redistricting Commission, who created them in cooperation with the citizens of Colorado, and reject any other maps, especially the ones submitted by Barnett and Kottwitz.

Comment:

I firmly believe that the redistricting carried out by the independent commission is as fair as could be expected. Please be on your guard against gerrymandering by members which would tilt the balance of the Colorado State House in an unfair way. Your mission has always been to redistrict in a fair and equable way; please do not let your work go to waste.

Comment:

Dear Commission: In urging a vote for the redistricting commission, the League of Women Voters said that voters should choose their elected officials, not the other way around. It's my understanding that maps being pushed by Commissioners Barnett and Kottwitz intend gerrymandering contrary to what we voted for. Please support maps drawn by nonpartisan staff. Thank you.

Please do not let the corrupt dark money interests and their Republican co-conspirators defile the great and honest work completed by the districting commission. It would be another power grab by the National autocratic movement currently endangering our Democratic process.

Comment:

I completely disapprove of the recent congressional map that places Highlands Ranch, and all of Douglas County, in Congressional District 4. The northern portion of the county is commercially connected to the metropolitan area and includes a well educated workforce. We’ve had SO much federal investment in our transportation systems through the expansion of C-470, I-25, and the recent light rail extension into Lone Tree. The purpose of these investments was to enhance and expand economic growth in the region. It seems completely counterintuitive to put an area of high-density, commercially developed land into a region with low-density, undeveloped farm land. Our needs are completely different! Our population will continue to grow, and our requirements as a voting block could overshadow the farming population. This would not be fair to them either, and they might suffer from lack of attention to their specific legislative needs. THIS IS A BAD SOLUTION THAT BENEFITS NO ONE! Please reconsider and reconnect Highlands Ranch and/or the northern portion of Douglas County with metropolitan Denver, thanks!
