1. The map of CD-2 including Boulder and the North West supports communities of interest working together on policies of climate change concerns, fire, water. 2. The map of CD-3 that includes Pueblo in the San Luis Valley supports historical ties and minority voices for Hispanic population. 3. Suggest uniting all of Summit County into CD-7 as our gateway to the Colorado mountains 4. Support CD-8 in the Northern suburbs to include minority influence along the I25 corridor.

I believe that the area that our Congressman represents should reflect the voters’ interests in that area. I believe that we are well represented by our current Congressman. But, understand that moving Pueblo to be included with other regions in the south of Colorado with similar beliefs would be good.

I have lived in Boulder since 1966 and worked for Boulder County for 15 years. During those years, I realized that a sense of community has permeated throughout Boulder County for years. To even consider dividing Boulder into separate Congressional districts is destructive to that sense of community and unity. What would be the purpose other than political considerations? There are many issues that unite this area - transportation, education, civil rights, human rights, health provisions, poverty, housing, the environment. We want our Representative to be true to our unity, not to our divisions.

The proposed districts are really leaving many communities unrepresented. When you put such different perspectives in the same district, the representative will find it impossible to properly represent the constituents because there will always be about 50% that disagree. Please keep similar values in similar districts to empower our representatives to do a good job, and not work for the political parties.

As the previous State Senator for Senate District 18 (Boulder County), I also cochaired the redistricting commission in 2010. In this role I insisted that Boulder County's community of interests be maintained. This was largely accomplished and it should remain this way this time as well. There are so many common interests throughout the county that it would be a huge mistake to break the county into separate districts. I would urge you not to do so.

First, I can only imagine the amount of time and energy all of you have put into this and I thank you for your dedication to this effort. It seems amazing that you were able to get the population within one person of 712,714, while considering communities and ensuring fairness. It is clear that the Commissioners have taken into account and are in compliance with the Revised Colorado Constitution Section 44: Representatives In Congress – Congressional Districts – Commission Created which sets forth policy regarding ending gerrymandering, ensuring politically balanced elections, protecting minority voting, and ensuring competitive districts. This current proposed map represents the voters properly in each district; for example, CD1 is highly democratic while CD3 is competitive and CD5 is highly Republican. The current proposed map takes away the unfair advantage and gives an opportunity for all differing voices while ensuring minority group voting is protected. It’s vital and our moral duty to ensure all voices are heard. This current map, specifically CD3, is reflective of communities of interest and gives more of a voice to minority communities with a district of over 25% Hispanic and 3% Indigenous populations. I have lived on the Western Slope since I was a young child, in six different counties and have seen first-hand the inequalities with the existing map. The proposed map brings the minority voice more into focus. Thank you again for your time and effort.

Dear Commissioners, It makes no sense to divide Boulder County. Boulder County's shared interests are transportation including more efficient routes between Boulder and Denver, Boulder and Fort Collins, and Boulder and Golden; environmental including reducing fossil fuel emissions, preservation of open space and reversing climate change to prevent wildfires; public health ensuring COVID-19 vaccinations and mask mandates; and gun safety. The municipalities of Boulder County have relentlessly strived together to support these interests. Dividing Boulder County is a shameful political effort to dilute the political power for which citizens in Boulder County have also relentlessly strived to earn. Please do not divide Boulder County in your redistricting efforts. Thank You, Theresa A. Clark

It's important that we maintain our Communities of Interest together: - Boulder communities share interests regarding environmental initiatives, climate goals and response to natural disasters. We need to work together to prevent, mitigate and respond to wildfires. - The towns in Boulder need to work together on transportation goals for the US 36 corridor and Highway 119. - Boulder municipalities are aligned on public health, housing, and employment concerns. During the COVID crisis, our representatives worked district wide in a collaborative manner. - Gun safety is an important issue at the federal level and needs consistent representation.
