Including Boulder with the northwestern part of the state, basically dilutes all rural aspects of this proposed congressional district. Boulder has absolutely nothing in common with the rest of this district and vice versa, but since it is the majority of the population, then it will drown out the rest of the state in this proposed district. Summit County has much more in common with the rural and mountainous parts of the state than Boulder county. Please keep the front range separate from the rest of the state and include all of Summit County with other parts of western colorado.

I support the new Colorado Congressional District placement (CD8) in the suburbs North of Denver. This growing area needs representation that reflects the minority influences growing along the I-25 corridor. We need to respect and honor the voices of the minority populations that are taking up residence in these neighborhoods. Patricia Magoun

Our community's interests, agricultural production, agricultural industrial (meat packing, cheese factory, sugar processing, manufacturing, are interests that unite our community. Water. For both residential, ag. production and industry is critical. Protecting this VITAL resource from the front range "robbery" of our water is critical to our future. Denver, Greeley, Ft. Collins, Boulder, Loveland, Longmont growth will continue to outpace our community. Elected representatives from those areas will not protect this resource for our future. Oil and gas production is as major employer and tax revenue source for our schools and other community interests. There are huge oil and gas reserves that must be allowed to be used and not restricted. Roads!!! All roads support our citizens and industry. It has become obvious that Front Range growth is taking much of the money for their area and not for our community. District 4 should NOT include any of Ft. Collins area. This area is not like our area. It should include all of the Greeley area to balance population which is more like our area.

It is important that Summit County not be divided into two congressional districts. The needs of Summit county, it's ski industry, it's recreational industry and it's mountains need to be addressed by the citizens of Summit Country as a whole. Summit County is a gateway to the mountains for Coloradan's and visitors from around the country and abroad. There needs to be one representative to help them navigate growth, the environment, fire mitigation and their needs. Please keep Summit County undivided and in the same Congressional District. Thanks, Tali Magoun

Developing a fair and well represented Colorado citizen voting base is a must. Granted it is a difficult task. I am asking the development of these voting districts consider the needs, lively hoods and values of the people. We as Coloradans wish to be represented by like minded like valued individuals. The requirement for adequate irrigation water and livestock drinking sources whether live or well supplied is so much different than recreational uses. Roads for transporting commodities and equipment have to be maintained differently than recreational activities. Delegating road crews to avalanche sites is equally important as flood but timing may have a huge financial difference for citizens needing those roads. Rural use is often perishable goods whether a school bus or load of peaches. We need our representatives to understand and not be ruled by "news" bites. Rural representatives have to understand issues of lack of mental support, distance to health centers, school sports travel. These lifestyles are not the same as more populated centers. Finally economic reality can be much different for urban individuals who have work at home careers versus rural individuals who work at home. Thank you for considering my comments.

I DO NOT support dividing Boulder Country at all, whether it be 2 or three districts. Boulder, as a college town and county, has unique environment and community needs. Commuter traffic around the county, and into and out of the city, is extensive, creating environmental concerns; proximity to the mountains means a long fire and smoke season; visitors to Rocky Mountain National Park travel through Boulder to visit the mountains and enjoy the wildlife and trails. I do not support splitting Boulder between Congressional Districts. We need one district, and one congress person to address our environmental. transportation and fire mitigation needs. Thank You, Tali Magoun

Integration of immigrants and people of color in everything that is considered, they are integral to our success! keeping environmental concerns utmost! , keeping the roaring fork valley together, it's interconnected in every way! resort/tourism as a secondary concern, not top deciding factors.

I am writing to state that I support the current map CD2 boundaries which includes Boulder County, Larimer County and counties north and west. With Boulder in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, we have shared interest in working with the western counties on fire prevention. Having personally been put on evacuation alert multiple times, I stress that working with these communities is important. Thank you, Tali Magoun

Colorado State Redistricting Commission Second hearing September 17, 2021 Based on the newest map I am happy to conclude that you have listened to our concerns. It gives me a lot of satisfaction to know that you folks are listening to the citizens of Colorado. My name is John Spezia. I have lived in Steamboat Springs since 1973, 48 years. When I moved to Routt County for job at a local summer ranch the ski area was just beginning to find its footing. The main drivers of our rural social-economic community were ranching, cattle, the power plant and mining of gas, oil and coal. Tourism, protecting our natural resources and outdoor recreation were very low on our priority list. We were very much like all the other rural agriculture counties in western Colorado. 48 years later, tourism, protecting our natural resources, skiing, outdoor recreation, an urban setting and our social-economic environment has changed drastically. Today, in contrast to these other western slope counties Routt County has a Climate Action Plan, we are protecting our natural resources to attract visitors, we have an economy that primarily relies on year round tourism, we have a different set of economic drivers that include skiing, biking, hiking and water sports and lastly we will have little to no extraction economy in the very near future. We have many common interests similar to Eagle, Grand and Summit counties that would be best represented if we were part of the same State House and Senate district in Colorado. The new map does need to achieve fairness in voting and representation by; 1- Combining rural and urban centers within a district to force the representative to listen to all sides when making decisions and running for office. 2-Combing areas in the districts to insure common interests. 3- To be contiguous so there are similar common needs of the district shared by all. 4-The maps look to the future as extraction economies fade and are replaced by tourist and environmental economies. 5-Issues like affordable housing, transportation, protecting the environment, climates action and tourist friendly community are common traits that should be in the new district. Thank you for your time and consideration, John Spezia Box 772255 Steamboat Springs, Colorado,80477
