Comment:

I am concerned with the lack of transparency and gerrymandering taking place and being pushed forth by Hunter Barnett and Aislinn Kottwitz. Please reject this and stand for transparency and fair redistricting.

Comment:

The commission process must be open and transparent. Any last-minute back door attempts by Barnett and Kottwitz to push through maps must be ignored. Thank you!

Please accept the redistricting map, as drawn by the non-partisan redistricting committee. Reject any alterations proposed by Commissioners Barnett and Kottwitz, who clearly have a partisan agenda. Alicia M Keegan, DVM

Comment:

This process is intended to determine fair and accurate political representation for our state for the next decade. The people of the state are tired of partisan politics. We should have fair representation for minority groups, and the maps should adequately represent the demographic, racial/ethnic, and ideological makeup of the state. Gerrymandered maps submitted by Commissioners Barnett and Kottwitz should be rejected, and the redistricting committee should support the map drawn by non-partisan staff.

Comment:

ALL meetings whether formal or informal between redistributing maps’ committee members and non committee members are subject to Colorado open meeting laws. If there is a violation of any of these Sunshine Laws, then there would be legal challenges throwing redistricting map(s) into question.

Comment:

It makes absolutely no sense to have small sections of Eagle County excluded from the 2nd district. Please reconsider and place all of Eagle County in one district.

Comment:

The reason the citizens of Colorado voted for this new form of redistricting was to stop gerrymandering in this state. Now we learn that the GOP members of the committee in conjunctions with outside operatives are working to do just that. This should be tolerated and stopped within and without the committee.

Comment:

I would like to ask for transparency in the redistricting process, and to reject the changes being pushed by Barnett and Kottwitz. Gerrymandering has been historically (and currently) a tool to disenfranchise voters of color. We need to do everything we can to ensure that all communities are able to freely exercise their right to vote, and take every action we can to dismantle systemic racism.

I urge the Commission to stand firm on transparency and to reject the gerrymandered maps being pushed by Commissioners Barnett & Kottwitz.

Comment:

The nonpartisan redistricting committee must take a stand for transparency. We cannot allow for non disclosed or unregistered operatives to influence the committee's legislative maps.
