Redistricting Committee, I am very frustrated to see that you are presently not having all of Eagle County in district 3. We need to be grouped with many other western slope ski and resort communities. Our commonalities are closely related in our economies, our land usage, our natural resource usages and life styles. We have very little congruence's with Boulder and the rest of the towns in district 2. I strongly urge you not to force us into a district that will either dilute or eliminate our voices for which we can represent our more common communities together. We are significant contributors to the state's economy and lifestyle desirability which can only be sustained and built upon, by the visions of our local citizens. We require our own voices to be heard! Thank you, Robert DeLuca

We spent 20 years trying to extricate Eagle County from CD2. We succeeded in getting the western portion in CD3 after the last redistricting. Now you propose putting us back and we DO NOT want to go. Keep us joined with counties that share our social issues, economic similarities and environmental needs. Split some other county if you must. We've served our time split between 2 districts. It's some other county's turn. We have nothing, zero, nada in common with Boulder or Larimer counties. We need to stay with the Western slope where we share water issues, resort challenges to say nothing of the I70 nightmare.

Broomfield split down the middle?? (via Lowell Blvd). Why is the City & County split half way between CD7 & CD8? By its most basic definition, Broomfield IS a shared community of interest. Broomfield should be kept whole in ONE of these districts.

While I am not from Colorado, looking at all of the proposals, the lack of a clear majority minority troubles me, as that leads to less opportunities to have our government accurately reflect our citizens. Attached I have a map with an area comprising many parts of Denver, its suburbs, and other cities like Longmont, Evans, and Greely. This area is about 57% minority in voting age population, and is almost 400,000 people larger than a district is required to be. As you can see with this, there is clear room for a majority minority district in Colorado.

Thank you to the Redistricting Commission for creating a fair and population balanced map. It is great to see that the diversity of Colorado will be represented, which may not have happened if the larger cities were included in the rural districts.

Eagle County MUST stay CD3. We are NOT a city like Boulder. Different things concern rural/ resort areas of CO than cities!

Hello. I feel that the redistricting map for Colorado is still unfair, as it currently places many rural counties in Western Colorado in the same congressional district as urban areas of Boulder. The needs and interests of these areas are vastly different. Please do not put these areas in the same Congressional district.

Please keep Garfield County together as we all share an interest of being Rural Colorado. the redistricting needs to be as fair as possible. Garfield County has nothing in common with Aspen and Steamboat Springs. Redistricting should not put a burden on our elected officials travels. Please with the redistricting make it a bipartisan and NOT Partisan.

Comment:

It is not necessary to split rural counties. Please keep Eagle county in one congressional district. Splitting up the county creates confusion and costs additional money.

We live northwest of Wellington and object to being lumped into the eastern plains district, District 4, as defined by the proposed redistricting maps, released September 23, 2021, for several reasons. Firstly, Wellington is made up of many who work, shop, and recreate in Fort Collins. It may have been a rural town before about 2010, but its character and concerns have changed as residents formerly from Fort Collins or other areas find homes that are more affordable in Wellington. Wellington has more in common with Fort Collins than it does with Nunn or Carr. Secondly, the proposed map generally follows I25 going north. It seems artificial to cut out Wellington to place it in District 4. Most of the businesses and city offices in Wellington are on the west side of I25. In addition, the makeup of Wellington regarding demographics, and voting habits more closely mirrors Fort Collins than it does the eastern plains communities. Below is information supporting this claim.
