GAHHHHHH! Were you listening at the redistricting hearings? Constituents throughout Colorado do NOT support gerrymandering. I hope you reject the maps being pushed by Commissioners Barnett and Kottwitz, and support the maps drawn by nonpartisan staff.

Please reject the changes proposed by Commissioner Barnett. They are highly partisan and their creation have not been transparent

Take a stand for transparency by rejecting any maps that could be tarnished by the ongoing, unreported lobbying to gerrymander legislative districts for the GOP. Reject maps being pushed by Commissioners Barnett and Kottwitz and support maps drawn by nonpartisan, independent commission.

Please reject any new, gerrymandered maps submitted or pushed by Commissioners Barnett and Kottwitz. It is shameful that they would push for GOP-favored maps as alleged non partisan commissioners. Please remove them from the committee.

The ability of the voters to fairly elect representatives of their choosing is a fundamental right of all Coloradoans. That right is being compromised by the the attempts of Hunter Barnett and Aislinn Kottwitz, Republican members of the Colorado Legislative Redistricting Commission. They are attempting to gerrymander the Colorado Senate and House to ensure Republican control of the state assembly for the next decade. As a voter and native Coloradoan who has always been proud of our Colorado values, THIS IS NOT RIGHT! THIS IS NOT FAIR!! I appreciate the work of the Legislative Commission and their staff. I appreciate the neutral, nonpartisan maps they submitted to the commission on Tuesday as their final set of legislative maps. I felt these nonpartisan, neutral maps would ensure fair representation for the people of Colorado, which is what all Coloradoans want. However, legislative Commissioners Barnett and Kottwitz are currently working with non-disclosing, unregistered Republican operatives lobbying to shove through a last-minute set of maps to the Supreme Court that would fundamentally alter the make-up of the state senate and house, almost ensuring control of Colorado Republicans over the next decade. This is UNACCEPTABLE!! This is a mockery of everything the Independent Redistricting Commissions are meant to stand for. I am a young voter. I voted in my first election last year. I am a young woman, a pre-med major at CU-Boulder, I am a Latina and a member of the LGBTQIA+ community. I look at Las Animas County's Fisher's Peak state park when I am home and the Flatirons when I am at school. The environment and transportation matter to me! It is vital that my voice is heard and I have the opportunity to elect representatives who care about me and my life. It is important I am able to express my views to my state legislators about those decisions that impact my life, my health, my safety, my ability to live authentically, my education and my community. In short, I am entitled to have my voice heard. I am entitled to a fair election where candidates who reflect my values have a honest and fair opportunity to be elected. It is fundamentally against all we stand for as Americans and Coloradoans to have our voices and voting power diminished, SILENCED, by the underhanded, subversive, tactics of Colorado Republicans. It is my understanding the Redistricting Committees were intended to be independent so that politics could not taint the process. It is my understanding that Legislative Commissioners were required to check their politics at the door when they agreed to serve as commissioners. This is improper interference with the redistricting process. Barnett and Kottwitz should be removed and the maps they pushed with subversive and deceptive Republican operatives should be rejected! I am urging you to REJECT the maps submitted by these underhanded Republican operatives working with Barnett and Kottwitz and reestablish a fair process nonpartisan process that creates a legislative map that will work fairly and equitably for all Coloradoans. Thank you for your consideration and work.

These maps, were they to be enacted, would be a travesty for CO. In my area alone, we would see our communities divided … by leg, cong and by county. In addition, for a supposedly nonpartisan process, these were absolutely influenced by unfair and undue pressure from the GOP. Keep our communities together. Keep our state a reflection of our values.

The attempt by Commissioners Hunter and Kottwitz to change the redistricting maps they themselves voted to submit to the Supreme Court is ludicrous. The proccss was handled as voted on by the people of Colorado and the last minute incursion by some undisclosed seeks to deny the majority of citizens what they want for their state. This attempt should be refuffed immediately.
