The City of Colorado Springs shows 490,000 residents, there is not another 250,000 outside the city limits where you have drawn the new line. El Paso County is our community, the entire county. I don't see how the people in HD19 can be better represented in the huge eastern section of Colorado rather than in El Paso County. I live in the county myself and I should be in CD5. People come to Colorado Springs for purchases they can not make in eastern El Paso County. They watch our local TV stations, listen to our weather, their daily lives reflect upon the idea they live in El Paso County. I have friends throughout this entire county and we should be represented by one representative, not split up. We are a whole community and that is important to all of us. I testified at the hearing at Pikes Peak Community College. Apparently the "New line" was already considered long before that hear. WHY didn't we discuss that option? I feel betrayed by the commission!

I write as a native of Highlands Ranch in Douglas County, CO. I appreciate the inexact nature of redistricting, but I am dismayed at the way Douglas County is currently proposed to be a part of Colorado's Congressional District #4. It makes little sense to separate highly educated urban/suburban towns(hips) like Highlands Ranch, Parker, and Castle Pines from the rest of the Metro Denver/Front Range communities, and it makes even less sense to lump them in with the largely rural districts of eastern CO. I share many common concerns with my neighbors who live two miles to the north of me, in Littleton and in Aurora, and much less in common with my neighbors who live one hundred miles to the east of me. Carving out congressional districts is much like making sausage. I'd encourage you to continue working on the recipe for Douglas County! Fort Collins is a community of diversity, yet there is a strong Patriotic Loyalty to the United States Constitution and what is represents. Public concerns are centered at the Marxist Regime and how it has made decisions based on their beliefs since their are in control. It has not taken into account the beliefs the people of the community have. It is important to have open space and access to enjoy outdoor activities. Living in a community where you are told what you will do and act, rather than have a choice is not a free society. Blaming people who have not had a vaccine as contributing to the COVID problem, it double speak when you have millions of people coming over the border unvaccinated and documented COVID cases. There is a way to unite people in a community, but having a group of people in power dictating what will happen and how we have to live is not the way and will cause uprising.

I live in Johnstown, kind of between Greeley and Loveland. Rather than include our town with either of the city centers close to us, instead you include us with suburbs of Denver and nearly an hour away. The people in Denver and the surrounding suburbs should not be included with a town an hours drive away when there are closer city centers of people to draw on. We aren’t close using any sense of the word and this should be reconsidered.

The interests of rural Colorado are very different from those of the burgeoning cities of the Front Range, where transplants who are unlikely to share the values of traditional Coloradans are pouring in at an alarming rate. Coloradans who have lived here for generations deserve an equal voice, and your redistricting efforts currently appear to be aimed at marginalizing rural Coloradans in favor of new urban dwellers and handing more control to a specific political party. The point of the commission was ostensibly to prevent gerrymandering, but it does not appear to be working -- at least not for rural Coloradans. You must redraw the districting maps to benefit ALL Coloradans.

I am a Parker resident and am concerned with Douglas County being placed again with the Eastern plains will continue to make us an uncompetitive district. A previous map had us grouped with Jefferson County which would make this a much more competitive district. I do not feel this suburban Denver county has much in common with those that border Kansas. We have much more in common with neighboring Jefferson county, a fellow metro front range community. This current map will keep Douglas County uncompetitive until the next redistricting.

The proposed redistricting map places the city of Fort Collins with the counties on the Eastern and Southeastern plains. However, the two areas are vastly different. Many of the rural economies of the East rely on extract industries and agriculture. On the other hand, Fort Collins is an urban college area that is home to a research university and high tech companies including solar power and digital industry research. Larimer county is focused on issues such as watershed restoration, climate action, diversity, equity, and urban concerns such as high population growth and homelessness. If one of the goals of the Commission is to preserve whole communities of shared interests and public policy concerns, please reconsider including Fort Collins with the rest of Larimer county.

The proposed redistricting unfairly favors democrats, by including liberal Boulder in with multiple smaller more rural rcommunities.

Please do not water down our rural voice by adding metro areas to our districts!!! Rural Colorado needs to have a voice! When I moved here and until recent years, Ag and Oil & Gas were top industries. The state gets lots of money from our rural communities and things need to be left alone! Thank you!
