1) Colorado Congressional Redistricting - I support the Second Staff Plan and Oppose the First Staff Plan. The second version of the Congressional Districts is horrible – splitting the Western Slope into two Districts - WHY?? It would allow Boulder and Larimer Counties to dictate how life would be lived to all the rural residents of the remainder of this proposed CD2 . Bad bad bad. This second version is much better. Keep the West Slope whole and in CD3. 2) For the Legislative Senate District map – Keep all of delta county whole and placed with Mesa County. We share mandy things together such as the Grand Mesa and the same watershed with much more unified communities of interest. Place Montrose County with Gunnison County as they have more shared interests then Mesa and Montrose Counties. 3) For the Legislative District map - All of Delta County should be kept whole and placed with Mesa County as they share the same watershed and most of the Grand Mesa. Again - splitting Delta County reduces its voice and places undue hardship on the citizens, businesses and governing officials of our county.

Please keep the entire of Broomfield County as one entity. We are one community and should not be split in fractional pieces.

Dear Redistricting Committee, My name is Karen D. Gilroy, and I currently live is the West Routt County of Hayden, CO. I am self employed in Natural Health education and services. I was raised on a ranch in Hayden Colorado. Hayden is in West Routt County where it fit quite well with all the other farming and ranching family operations of all of Routt County to Include: Steamboat Springs, the South Routt communities of Oak Creek, Phippsburg, Yampa, and Toponas, and the North Routt community of Clark. Although, Steamboat has changed greatly, Routt County as a whole does not have anything in common with Boulder. Thank you, Karen D. Gilroy

Do not split up Broomfield into multiple districts! We are one community and need further division.

Comment:

It doesn't make sense nor is it fare to mix counties that do not share common interests 1) The Second Staff Plan for Colorado Congressional Districts is Fair and Balanced and should be selected (and the First Staff Plan was terrible), i.e. the Western Slope should be kept whole and in CD3. 2) For the Legislative Senate District map – All of Delta should be kept whole and placed with Mesa County. It shares the same watershed and most of the Grand Mesa. They are much more unified communities of interest. Place Montrose County with Gunnison County, they have more shared interests then Mesa and Montrose Counties. 3) For the Legislative District map - All of Delta County should be kept whole and placed with Mesa County. It shares the same watershed and most of the Grand Mesa. As described above, splitting Delta County reduces its voice and places undue hardship on the citizens, businesses and governing officials of our county.

Dear Redistricting Committee, My name is Timothy V. Gilroy, and I currently live is the West Routt County of Hayden, CO. I own a small excavation company and work for many of the local AG operations. I was born and raised on a ranch in Steamboat Springs. Steamboat Springs and all of Routt County have been the homes to many ranch and farming families for many generations. Although, Steamboat has changed greatly, we do not have anything in common with Boulder. Thank you, Timothy V. Gilroy

Highlands Ranch is a part of the Denver Metro community and shares common interests with the metro area, such as transportation, urban development, and environmental concerns such as air quality. As a resident of Highlands Ranch, I feel that my community is the southern metro area, and not the eastern plains. If the current map is adopted, my interests as a citizen of Colorado will not be represented in Congress. Highlands Ranch residents would be far better served by remaining in the 6th congressional district, or if they are included in the western metro area district (CD 7) with Jefferson County as originally proposed.

Broomfield is one "community of interest" that should not be divided. Broomfield needs to be together !

Broomfield is one community and should not be divided. We are a City that fought (and succeeded) to become our own county. It doesn’t make sense to divide this community.
