I live in Routt County, but this county is very much divided. I feel Hayden better aligns with Moffat County, than with Steamboat Springs, when speaking of overall thought process. Steamboat Springs faces different obstacles than other areas on the eastern slope. Please don't lump either Hayden or Steamboat with any eastern slope areas. I don't feel like that is a good idea because we rarely feel like they understand our problems. When a Congressman or State Represtative tries to represent us and the eastern slope, i feel like we don't get any attention or consideration.

I have lived in Jefferson County for years. It has absolutely nothing in common with Douglas county; not in population diversity, not politically, not in political ideologies, not in policy, or priorities- not at all! As a voter, my votes should not be combined with those of Douglas County, nor they mine. This is a transparent attempt to dilute the Blue vote by subsuming a politically diverse area into a solidly conservative district. Lakewood should stay in the Arvada-Wheatridge district! Thank you, Amber Varwig

I like Lakewood should stay part of Jeffco. We have more in common with Jeffco than with Douglas County. Please leave Lakewood in Jeffco!

Comment:

Congressional and Legislative districts which encompass the principle front-range cities should be bounded at the foothills and not permitted to extend into mountain communities or across the continental divide. The people of the mountain towns and the Western Slope have very different interests and needs than people on the "Eastern Flat lands" and are poorly represented by the current districts. Likewise, districts based in the Western suburbs of the Denver Metro area (Westminster, Arvada, Lakewood) have natural boundaries approximately at I-25 and I-70. These districts should not extent eastward into Aurora. The Denver Metro region divides reasonably well into quarters, each with populations of similar needs and interests. New district boundaries should reflect that.

Lakewood should stay with other communities in Jefferson County. Our histories have been intertwined over a century and the Jeffco cities have common representation in US Congress.

Comment:

Lakewood should NOT be moved to Douglas County as the community has very different dynamics and needs. It smacks of gerrymandering if Lakewood is being considered to be moved rather than other areas that are geographically closer to Douglas County. I am also extremely concerned that this will limit my ability to access voting drop off points easily as many are some distance away per the Douglas County website. I should not have to drive 20-30 minutes to get to a ballot drop off point. I have complete trust in Jefferson County Election Officials as they have the mail-in ballot organized well. A fellow resident also pointed out there are several municipal services that require intergovernment cooperation, which would be more difficult with Douglas based upon friends that used to live there. They sold their house and moved to Jefferson County to get away from the way Douglas County runs things.

I voted to have a bipartisan commission to take it out of lstate egislation. I did this as a Democrat with a majority democratic legislation. Republic and will cheat, suppress & gerrymandering anyway to keep power. I am fed up with their swarmy, sleezy, sneaky ways they try to do this redistricting in bad faith. Cant win with policy cheat, cheat, cheat. Lakewood is a non starter. If these "BIPARTISAN REPUBLICANS CANT PLAY FAIR find some new ones. The GOP will not get their anti democracy.hands on Colorado.

Lakewood shares little in common with Douglas County, and should stay in a district with Arvada and Wheat Ridge.

House District 26 - I believe that Eagle and Routt counties should remain in a contiguous house district. They have very similar interests and issues including: economies heavily based on ski areas & tourism , high and rapidly increasing housing costs, a high cost of living and comparatively low wages due to large service sector similar western slope environments both are river basins, similarly prioritize environmental conservation over extraction, strong support for cultural, arts/theatre, and historic preservation These similarities allow our State Representative to focus on and represent district wide goals. Thank you for your attention. Jack Dysart Steamboat Springs
