I am concerned that there is a huge difference in some of the population estimates in both Congressional and Legistlative districts. I think the commission really needs to address this. As it is not fair for some districts to have 20% or more population that other districts. I think this evens out the idea of one person one vote. It they are two unbalanced then you loose that idea. I think that idea is more important to keep communities together as many issues transcend community boundaries.

I agree with our county commissioners!!! I’m in favor of removing us from the front range district to give us better representation. We are not the front range and their politics have no business effecting us in the high country. We deserve to be represented by our own! Which is not the front range! Grand county has suffered from this for too long!

I think that the cities of Fort Collins, Windsor, Greeley, and Loveland should be kept together in a single district rather than split in two. These cities are geographically close together. Additionally, many people commute between these cities and access the same amenities. I think it would make more sense to split districts 2 and 8 horizontally rather than vertically so that Boulder is grouped with the Denver suburbs such as Thorton and Broomfield. Then the northern cities in Boulder, Larimer, and Weld counties could be grouped. This would do a better job of keeping communities of interest together.

Castle Rock has far more shared interests with our neighbors in Parker than those in the areas up by Golden. For instance, Castle Rock and Parker, and most of Douglas County, are bedroom communities for DTC. Because Castle Rock and Parker are uniquely situated between the Springs and Denver, households are often split between working in those significantly different locations. Our needs, here in the area just below Denver's South Metro, are entirely different from those in Jefferson County. It's ludicrous to put Castle Rock into a district that would not represent our needs.

I am a resident of Summit County. I have lived here for 47 years. This county is strongly progressive with a majority of citizens supporting efforts to reduce, substantially, climate change. We unite behind equality for all, regardless of race, religion or state of wealth. To lump is in with the likes of Lauren Boebert is laughable...if it weren't so serious. I am so tired of the Republicans continuing to re-draw district lines to favor their constituency. This anti-Democratic. This is anti-USA! WHO makes up this "Independent Redistricting Commision"? How were they appointed? If this Commission is truly "independent", they would not lump Summit County in with Lauren Boebert's district. They would also not pit one Democratic representative against another in Eagle and Summit counties. I am appalled by this redistricting. Mary Logan Breckenridge, Colorado

We. Citizens of True Southern Colorado are very upset with preliminary mapping, for Congressional Districts. Sure your staff took Pueblo, Huerfano, Custer counties along with the San Luis Valley from the Western Slope of Colorado to the Eastern Plains, which is putting us in the same, non-representation situation, just move us from one side of the state to the other. This job of yours is not just moving things around to make the numbers fit, it is to allow the best representation to EACH Coloradoan, not just those inthe Denver area. You guys are stuck on this rural vs urban syndrome , which does not apply to South-Central Colorado . Please review the pdf presentation which will explain population centers, representation and a complete representation of all Coloradoans. We have the population, we have the geographical integrity, and now all we need is someone on your committee to recognize that South-Central Colorado is again being ignored by your bureaucratic staff. Please read this because it is comprehensive, factual, and points out Colorado in a different perspective from people who have lived he longer than most of you, Thank You Thomas McKenna Citizens of True Colorado

District 7 should include all of Douglas County, including all of Parker and Franktown.

This map is about as lazy an effort as I have ever could have imagined coming from an independent group. The point of having an independent redistricting group wasn't to evenly split seats in ultra-partisan districts. A way must be found to have all districts internally evenly split to the limits of the population of Colorado.

Comment:

Clearly the new districts do not achieve true representation of our area. Castle Rock, Larkspur, Franktown, Parker, Highlands Ranch, and Lone Tree should all belong to same district. Golden belongs with Westminster and Brookfield. Please do not carve Castle Rock into district that extends all the way to Golden.

Who is doing this and why?our census doesn’t justify your actual desire to redistribute and give more population to democrats! Disgraceful and illegal!
