I believe you should take the Census figures skeptically. We never were contacted by the Census, either by mail, internet, phone or a visit to our house. Finally, near the end of the period to be counted, we used the internet to contact the Census and be counted. Secondly, the previous administration did everything it could to limit participation in the Census and surely the numbers will be suspect. I don't know how you can get valid population counts, but skepticism is necessary. I also hope you resist those in our country who are anti-democracy. Some may be members of the two Commissions as they were appointed by the leadership of a party that is trying to undermine elections and democracy. These people cannot be trusted. I am unsure this new system can work given the pressures on individuals to force minority government on Americans. It does not take much to stall and destroy an honest effort to have fair and democratic districts and there may be some among you who intend to do that.

I would encourage you against redistricting. As a resident of Larimer county, we want our conservative voices heard. To be grouped with a more liberal county such as Boulder, would drown out our views. We should remain separate. Thank you for your consideration.

I urge you to keep Larimer and Boulder Counties together as one congressional district. These two counties have many common interests. Larimer and Boulder Counties have a high level of high tech and pharmaceutical employment jobs. These counties share many of the same cultural and revenue generating sectors. They both have a strong tourism industry, and they both have strong educational sectors in CSU and CU, with all the attendant research and high tech spin offs. They also share the same health system, University of Colorado Health. Larimer and Boulder Counties would have a population approximately 722,000 people, the desired number for a Congressional district. Districts should also be as compact as possible, which describes Larimer and Boulder Counties because they are contiguous with no intervening geographical dividing line. Larimer County is already a competitive county, another important characteristic of a Congressional District. Adding Weld to Larimer County as a Congressional District will cease to make it competitive.

I am NOT in favor of redistricting! This is a way to add people who favor a particular district to the vote to control us. Please leave well enough alone. Colorado is acquiring way too many progressive agendas that will bankrupt us and ruin our state. NO!!!!!!!

Chaffee County has been disenfranchised by its inclusion in the 5th Congressional District with the much more populous Colorado Springs and El Paso County. Our votes count for nothing and we have been VERY unhappy about this apportionment. Doug Lamborn pays absolutely no attention to our needs and concerns, and never visits. Lamborn doesn't need our votes to get re-elected. Chaffee County is lumped in with a huge populous area with much different voting preferences. Chaffee County voting is nearly equally divided between Republican, Democratic and Independent, while the dominant Colorado Springs and El Paso County are overwhelmingly Republican. Thus Colorado Springs and El Paso County drown out Chaffee County voices. We might as well not vote at all. Chaffee County needs to be in a district of counties with similar voting proportions – 1/3, 1/3 and 1/3.

I live in Park county. This is a rural county with a large ranching presence. The county is Republican by majority and conservative in its thinking. I would like boundaries drawn so that Park county is not combined with, nor divided and combined with, areas that do not share these characteristics. Thank you. Alan R. Fisher

Stop redistricting....we do not need a commission to study this. A waste of our taxpayer money. STOP REDISTRICTING.

Hello, Thank you for letting me write in and express my comments on redistricting. I know that there is consideration to divide the districts between Larimer and Boulder counties. I am against this idea. I think that Boulder County is more of a liberal county and Larimer more of a reserved county. I would like to see them each keep their individual distinctions, and if the districts are divided between Boulder and Larimer Counties, that distinction will more than likely be terminated. Deanne

We live in Larimer county, not far from the Boulder county line. Please put us in the Larimer county district, which aligns much better with our issues than does Boulder county. Thank you.
