I am in favor of the the Schuster Map as it keeps Southwest Colorado together by keeping the Roaring Fork Valley together. It also keeps the San Luis Valley together with Pueblo and Pueblo's agricultural region. These are important regions to remain represented together. It keeps more communities of interest whole than the Second Staff Map. Thank you.

Support the Schuster map as providing more competitive districts and keeping critical watersheds together.

If I had my druthers, we'd use an excellent computer algorithm to cut out competitive districts in every state in the USA. As a 35 year resident of the Roaring Fork Valley, out of the options I've seen, the Schuster map will suit the Valley the best. Glenwood Springs is filling up with people who work in Aspen and therefore should be in the same district! Thank you for your hard work. Warm regards, Sheryl E Young

After looking at the variations so far, I believe the Schuster Map is the most competitive map still on the commission's docket, creating three competitive districts. I think it is the fairest of the plans and will give Coloradoans the best way to make their opinions (votes) known. Thank you for your hard work. Let's be fair for all.

I have just reviewed the Schuster map which creates competitive districts. This seems to be the very soul of democracy and I support the proposed redistricting shown on the Schuster map. Thank you for your review of this comment.

Comment:

The published maps are terrible. Its great if you live in the middle of a proposed district. But if you live on the edge of a proposed district you cannot tell which district you would be in. With all the GIS technology available, the proposed maps should be able to be viewed down to the street level. Develop better maps.

The Schuster map seems like the best, Southern Colorado needs to stay togather, they have common interests

I am in favor of the most recent version of the Schuster Map. Living in Carbondale, I like and think it is important that it keeps the Roaring Fork Valley together. It also keeps Southwest Colorado together, and the San Luis Valley together with Pueblo and Pueblo's agricultural region. It keeps more communities of interest grouped together than the Second Staff Map. The Schuster Map creates three competitive districts, making it the most competitive option thus far. With quite a bit of diversity in Southern Colorado, politics is quite different between communities and yet these same communities are economically interdependent. Rural agricultural communities need mountain town markets and jobs. We need real competitive districts, not manipulated ones, so we can truly work together and create solutions that are in the best interests of all.

There is no perfect way to create these districts, but I prefer the "First Staff Map," or some variation on it such as the Schuster Map. Here are some preferences I have: 1. Keep Douglas County intact. This is my county of residence, and we face growth issues, water use, and quality of life issues that are different than the metro counties to the north and south. A bit more in common with the sparsely populated counties directly east. 2. I favor keeping the southern half of the state together. I grew up in La Plata County, and the issues of this area are more in alignment with the history of the region, where native tribes and Hispanic culture were dominant for centuries. Durango has more to do with the south and New Mexico than it does the I-70 corridor. Thanks for taking on this important and nearly impossible task. Rodger

We support the Schuster option. It keeps like communities with like and is the most competitve map on the table.
