Hello, I have heard of the Republican legislative Redistricting Commissioners Hunter Barnett and Aislinn Kottwitz have been working with non-disclosing and unregistered GOP operatives lobbying to shove through a last-minute set of maps to the Supreme Court that would fundamentally alter the make-up of the state senate and house, I am asking you to reject maps being pushed by Commissioners Barnett and Kottwitz and support maps drawn by nonpartisan staff. The nonpartisan, neutral redistricting staff was directed by our votes to be created so we could have a fair and balanced districting and avoid what so many states are doing with gerrymandering to suppress votes and suppress democracy. Thank you for your time and listening to the voters of Colorado by keeping the maps drawn by the nonpartisan staff. Heather

Please support the maps drawn by the non-partisan committee and reject those being pushed by Barnett and Kottwitz. Our voting districts should be non partisan and not gerrymandered.

I was excited that a non partisan commission would create new districts in Colorado. This process should be insulated from the heavy hand of partisanship which is the inevitable result of a legislative committee. But it seems that in our inaugural effort to remove partisanship is being sabotaged by a partisan group. Republican legislative Redistricting Commissioners Hunter Barnett (R) and Aislinn Kottwitz (R) are working with non-disclosing and unregistered GOP operatives lobbying to shove through a last-minute set of maps to the Supreme Court that would fundamentally alter the make-up of the state senate and house, almost certainly ensuring control for Colorado Republicans over the next decade. I urge the commission to reject any maps that could be tarnished by the ongoing, unreported lobbying to gerrymander legislative districts for the GOP.

It is my understanding that last Tuesday the nonpartisan redistricting staff submitted their final set of legislative maps to the redistricting commission. This would appear to ensure fair representation. I support this effort and believe it’s the way it should be done. However I have been informed that the Republican legislative redistricting commissioners Barnett and Kottwitz are working with non-disclosing and unregistered GOP operatives lobbying to gerrymander such that the make up of the state senate and house would be altered to insure control for the Republicans. The Commission is meant to be independent and I view this as offensive.

Hello, I am writing to express concerns over the redistricting maps. We coloradoians voted for non-partisan Commission to draw the map. I urge you not to consider the changes made because of lobbyist pushing their agenda. Please discard the maps submitted by. Bennet and kottwitz (?) Thank you. Doug

I am so grateful that the non-partisan redistricting committee held the series of town halls. I was at one of them in Durango. While the map that I was in favor of was not adopted, significant changes to the original map was adopted and approved. You all listened! The committee and staff worked very hard to make the map fair. Now Republican Commissioners Barnett and Kottwitzeject are proposing last minute changes to the map created by non-partisan staff that favor Republican control. I reject this map and support the map drawn by non-partisan staff. This entire process would be nullified by these two commissioners that the people of this state voted for in 2018 if they are allowed to submit their version to the court at the last minute.

I support and am still hopeful for the adoption of the 3rd Staff Plan for Legislative Maps for the Colorado Assembly Senate and House. I urge you to reject maps being pushed by Commissioners Barnett and Kottwitz and to support maps drawn by nonpartisan staff such as the 3rd Staff Legislative Map Plan.. You must reject any maps that could be tarnished by the ongoing, unreported lobbying to gerrymander our legislative district. Thank you.
