I am a concerned the redistricting process may not be fair. I urge you to reject the gerrymandered maps being pushed by Commissioners Barnett and Kottwitz. I am also concerned with the new District 8, that competitiveness came almost exclusively at the expense of Democrats. I hope you will consider the make-up of the state has changed over the past years to be more blue - the competitiveness of congressional districts should reflect that change in demographics.

Comment:

Please accept the nonpartisan redistricting Committee's final set of legislative maps and reject the obviously gerrymandered maps being pushed by Commissioners Barnett and Kottwitz, as they are working with non-disclosing and unregistered GOP operatives to shove through last-minute maps that would almost certainly ensure Colorado Republican control over the next decade. Thank you.

Please do not allow the gerrymandered maps being proposed by Commissioners Kottwitz and Barnett. Your bipartisan work has been done well and doesn't need to be altered by partisan agendas.

Comment:

Redistricting Committee: you need to reject the gerrymandered maps being pushed by Commissioners Barnett and Kottwitz. This process is intended to determine fair and accurate political representation for our state for the next decade. It cannot be manipulated by political hacks. This is the very behavior we sought to correct when we voted to have your committee established in the first place. Please adhere to the rules of transparency that have been set for you.

Comment:

Republican Commissioners are attempting to Gerrymander the State Senate and House. Reject maps being published by Commissioners Barnett and Kottwitz and support maps drawn by nonpartisan staff. This is their attempt for Republican control of districts. Thank You. Arlene & Norm Kramer

Comment:

I was greatly encouraged at the inception of the Independent Redistricting Commission. I have long held the opinion that the true heart and soul of a democracy lies in the workings of local government and that local government is the most direct representation 'of the people'. The degree to which this representation is true and fair determines the foundation of our national governing bodies. I was disappointed to hear that the redistricting maps prepared by the non-partisan redistricting commission may be in danger of being tainted by non-disclosing, unregistered GOP lobbyists. These maps are being pushed forward by Commissioners Barnett and Kottwitz. I am writing to encourage you, and plead with you to maintain the non-partisan intent of the original commission design and accept NO maps that may have been impacted in any way by unreported gerrymandering. You have taken an admirable and important step towards preserving our democracy. Please don't let these attempts reverse your original goals.

Comment:

The voters approved a nonpartisan committee to draw this new map and it has been completed. I am extremely upset to see that two Relpublican committee members are attempting to change that map by nefarious means. I beg you to reject maps being pushed by Commissioners Barnett and Kottwitz and support maps drawn by nonpartisan staff. We are depending on you to do the right thing.
