I strongly believe that the interests of summit county align with the front range and the 2nd congressional district. I am a transplant from Denver . I totally disagree that we are a rural county in make up -and goals.

Thank you for the opportunity to comment last night in Golden. I was asked to put my detailed concerns about HD 13 and 25 in writing. I proposed Coal Creek Canyon (currently the arm that extends north on the west side of the proposed HD 13) be moved into HD 25. Coal Creek Canyon is very similar to Leyden Rock and Candelas, which are on the west side of the current map. In exchange, the southwest corner of the proposed HD 25 that dips south could be moved into HD 13. Alternatively, the southern boundary could be moved a little north of 72nd Av, where it currently is.

I live in Clear Creek County and have a second home in Grand county. I believe we should join Jefferson and Boulder

Hi, I owned a business in the irrigation and water well business for almost 40 years. I sold out and moved to Durango a few years ago. I was also involved with raid on San Luis Valley water back in the 90s. My interests are water related. In my opinion, the congressional districting for the west slope should be divided at the continental divide and if needed additional population, include the San Luis Valley. Water issues and interests for the Colorado river and the Rio Grande river drainages are very similar.. I also think that the San Juan drainage area should be considered for the legeslative districting. That would include Archuleta, La Plata and part of Montezuma and San Juan counties. The natural mountain barriers carved out by the rivers seem look good division points to me. Water issues in the arid west are and will be some of the most divisive, controversial and important issues facing both local and Federal Governments. Thank you for the opportunity to comment. I strongly support summit county placement in the 3rd congressional district. Summit county has much stronger ties to other mountain communities than it does with the front range metro area and especially Boulder. Boulder is so extreme that when having lived and worked there until a few months ago, it simply doesn’t match the needs of 90% of the rest of the metro area. Congressman Neguse has an impossible task of keeping the extremists of Boulder happy while poorly serving the best interests of any non-Boulder area; as a result he does not do a good job of representing the majority his current district.

Platteville Co is a rural community. Any redistricting needs to keep Platteville with other rural communities. Encroaching boundaries into populated areas could bring voting and representation that is In conflict of the values and way of life in our community.

Please include summit county with the western counties. We have more in common with these counties.

Our primary home is in Boulder County. We have a small condo in Summit County for our personal use - we spent most of COVID in Summit County (Breckenridge) so we have a good sense of day-to-day life/issues/public priorities in both communities. We think the argument is much stronger that public priorities for Congressional attention are most similar between Summit County and the Front Range, versus the rural/agriculturally-oriented Western Slope communities. Certainly environmental issues are better aligned with the Front Range, and given the fluidity between people spending time and dollars in Summit County and the Front Range, the economic issues have higher overlap than with heavily rural agricultural regions of the state. We also think that at the local legislative level it’s important to keep our alignment with Lake, Park and Clear Creek counties rather than have that voice related to issues of common interests dissected.

I have never understood why Summit County was lumped into the 2nd congressional district with Boulder. Our interests were, for the most part, different. I cite the re-introduction of wolves as one issue where I would differ with Boulder residents who pushed that legislation over the top to pass. We will have to live with their decision every day (when we hike for example), to them it sounds "pretty neat". Our interests are more in line with other western slope communities, as are the issues we face. When I was working, we always made decision on the basis of what made sense from a business perspective. Not because of the personalities involved. The unsaid issue is Boebert versus Neguese and that should not be a consideration at all.
