I have written previously and I thank you for your attention to all of the comments you receive. After considerable thought, I have come to the conclusion that this most recent map drawn by your staff is pure gerrymandering. If this map remains, the northwestern side of Colorado loses all representation to Boulder, Broomfield, west Larimer. While I appreciate your hard work you must do better! Thank you

Our area is rural and should remain with other rural areas. We have different view points and income than those from Boulder. Please also take Steamboat out of the rural area. Keep the rest of Routt County rural. You are making us extinct. People flocked here for our way of life and now want to change it to where they came from. Don’t let us go extinct.

I would like to object to the new District 4 map that places Fort Collins, a rapidly growing urban area within an otherwise entirely rural district. The Eastern Plains have a unique set of geographically, cultural, economic, and environmental characteristics that are certainly not unimportant, but which the city of Fort Collins does not share. Fort Collins fits more appropriately in the newly created District 8 which encompasses other Front Range cities that are of similar size and have been experiencing similar growth and environmental issues, and with which Fort Collins shares more characteristics. The adjacency to the foothills drives an economy less dependent on extraction and agriculture and more likely to rely on tourism and amenity development.

I like the new maps better. I feel that Pitkin County is better represented with the current maps. We have more in common with the counties we are now included in then we did with the entire western slope. We are now with more than half the ski counties in the state and also have some southern aspects as well.

I wanted to write and thank the commission for their work on this project and express my support for the latest draft of the proposed congressional and legislative districts, I appreciate the commission hearing the feedback from our part of the state and drawing a map that is reflective of our communities of interest, especially as they pertain to water rights and conservation and by including minority communities in a proposed district with over 25% Hispanic population and a 3% indigenous population.

My name is Psyche Spangler. I live in Fort Collins. As a resident of Fort Collins, Larimer County and Colorado I would like to comment on this current proposed redistricting map. I don’t think the city of Fort Collins should be separated from the rest of the Larimer County. Fort Collins is the county seat of Larimer County and should have the same representative. We share the same needs and goals. To combine Fort Collins with the Eastern most Colorado counties does not make sense. As a vibrant fast growing university town with a concentration of high tech and tourism industries we do not have the same concerns or interests as the farming and ranching communities of the eastern portion of our state. How could one representative represent such differing concerns? Splitting Larimer County into 3 congressional districts, 2, 4 and 8, seems inefficient. Inter-community issues between cities that are the fastest growing in the state will now cross congressional districts. Concerns about sufficient water for current and new development throughout the county will require keeping three congressional offices up to date. Last year Larimer County fought forest fires. Such an event in the future will split the oversight of the disaster in one congressional district and the actual event in another. Please reject this map and try again for a more equitable redistricting. Thank you for considering my and my fellow neighbors’ concerns.

Absolutely object and am opposed because the commission chose to split up the Western Slope, despite the voices of the people who live there. If you aren't listening to residents, that is WRONG!

This redistricting according to a multitude of people, is totally wrong...STOP NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We need fair redistricting maps that benefit ALL of Colorado, not just Denver. Denver is one area in Colorado, not the entire state. We need fair representation for the remaining area (which is far greater than Denver) of Colorado so that the people have a fair voice in our government.

The latest iteration of the redistricting map is spot on! We need two reps to deal with the complexities of western Colorado. Thank you.
