It was a difficult job to settle on the maps you have produced. Congratulations and thank you. I am concerned that Commissioners Hunter Barnett (R) and Aislinn Kottwitz (R) are trying to further alter the districts to give unfair advantage to the GOP. We Coloradoans have had enough with this type of political machinations. Stick to your guns. You did a good job.

Dear Commissioners,
I urge you to take a stand for transparency by rejecting any proposed maps that could be tarnished by the ongoing, unreported lobbying to gerrymander legislative districts for the GOP. Please reject the maps being proposed and pushed by Commissioners Barnett and Kottwitz and support the maps drawn by the nonpartisan staff.
Thank you,
Anne J Ercolani

Please do not allow Republican partisans' dishonest attempt to redraw districts to put themselves back in power. There's a reason they are not currently in power: they don't have the right ideas or vision of the future to attract a majority of voters. So they resort to what they do best: cheating.
Commissioner Barnett and Kottwitz need to come up with a better strategy than cheating by drawing maps that would produce minority rule. Democrats should not be at a disadvantage by doing the right thing and setting up a non-partisan committee to draw competitive maps.
Whatever happened to fair play? That's a bedrock American value.
And by the way, Joe Biden won the free and fair election of 2020. Empirically-derived truth is also an American value, even if Republicans have abandoned it.

I am concerned about Republican partisan gerrymandering in the state legislature promoted by Commissioners Barnett and Kottwitz. Transparency is needed in this process. They should not be able to use undisclosed and unregistered lobbyists to lock up the Colorado state legislature for Republicans. The will of the voters needs to be respected. These gerrymandered maps recently introduced should not be used. Maps by the nonpartisan staff should be supported.

Comment:
On Tuesday, nonpartisan, neutral redistricting staff submitted their final set of legislative maps to the commission, which would ensure fair representation for the people of Colorado, as they wanted.
But Republican legislative Redistricting Commissioners Hunter Barnett (R) and Aislinn Kottwitz (R) are working with non-disclosing and unregistered GOP operatives lobbying to shove through a last-minute set of maps to the Supreme Court that would fundamentally alter the make-up of the state senate and house, almost certainly ensuring control for Colorado Republicans over the next decade. This is a mockery of everything that Independent Redistricting Commissions are meant to stand for.
I urge you to stand for transparency by rejecting any maps that could be tarnished by the ongoing, unreported lobbying to gerrymander legislative districts for the GOP. Reject these maps being pushed by Commissioners Barnett and Kottwitz and support maps drawn by nonpartisan staff.

Please reject the redistricting plans put forth by Barnett and Kottwitz. These are a deceptful attempt to gerrymander in favor of the Republican party. This is unacceptable!

Please stand for transparency by rejecting any maps that could be tarnished by the ongoing, unreported lobbying to gerrymander legislative districts. Please reject the maps being pushed by Commissioners Barnett and Kottwitz and support maps drawn by nonpartisan commission. We wanted an independent commission to re-draw the maps, and this is what we got. Please do not undermine the hard work and time that the volunteers that were on the commission did for our State.
