I recently served as election judge in the recently concluded elections. It was an honor and a privilege to not only be part of the democratic process but to safeguard it in such an active role. I think involvement in the commission will serve a similar if not the same role, i.e. to safeguard democracy by ensuring fair representation.
I am a firm believer in consensus-based decision making in both my professional and personal life. As a senior executive in various roles, I have been and am committed to a democratic and civic-minded approach to decisions, based on active listening, empathy, and consideration of different perspectives. I have strong opinions but I believe I am fair and impartial. I am a staunch Democrat but I am an ever stronger advocate of everyone's right to be heard, everyone's right to vote, and everyone's right to be fairly represented.
As an attorney, I am trained to analyze issues, conduct research, weight relevant considerations, and arrive at one or more conclusions or resolutions based on analysis of the fact and evidence gathered.
