want to serve on the commission because I believe in civic duty and I think the playing field should be fair for everyone and everyone's vote should count. If the districts are set up to heavily favor one party or another, that does not lend itself to a fair process. One party should not be able to draw the lines to their favor.
I was a civic project coach for Roaring Fork Leadership for six years and my job in that role was to help the team members build a cohesive team. I was also the Parks and Recreation Commission Chair for seven or so years where I was in charge of ensuring all voices were heard when we were discussing projects. I am usually the one that sees both sides of the issues and work hard to ensure a that alternate views are exposed and discussed.
a paralegal, I am always researching and solving problems. I enjoy figuring out problems and how to improve situations. I am also a trained mediator and am working on my mediation skills. I tend to see problems more clearly than others and am usually the one on the commission who sees the issues with projects and voices my opinions, not to stop the project, but to ensure we have the best project we can.
