Organization and Advocacy Experience

I have held many leadership positions across several organizations as President, Vice President, Assistant Governor, Program Director and Committee Chair. Each of these roles has provided both a space for continued development as a leader and to impart change in underserved or underrepresented communities. Coupled with a long history of work in the nonprofit sector and as an entrepreneur I have been able to bring teams and communities together.

I would like to be a part of this process and believe my skill set and experience along with my ability to bring people from diverse background together would be beneficial. I recognize and engage in different communities across Colorado and have worked to provide resources and connect people across the state. I believe that we should have representation from across all communities. Theses maps will lead to better outcomes for the people I have experience working with and providing resources for.

Statement on Working with Consensus

Building consensus for me is the opportunity for everyone to have their voice heard in a non judgemental environment where respect is shown to each person. I believe we all have more similarities than differences, building off of the similarities and the desire to meet the common objectives by focusing on outcomes and solutions versus position and personality it is easier to gain consensus. I am involved in many bipartisan organizations where I have held leaderships role and it was imperative to remain impartial. I also serve in a role as a diversity Chair for a major organization where once again creating a fair and impartial arena is key to successful outcomes.

Relevant Analytic Skills for Commission

This to me is very straight forward, a problem is like a puzzle, gather all of the pieces, explore the options of how and why they should fit together, look at the picture you have put together based on the placement of the pieces and determine if the desired outcome was reached. I recognize the work on the commission will be a bipartisan collaboration, I will continue to build on my strengths from previous roles in order to ensure all voices are heard on the commission, that all of the pieces fit together to ensure an equitable outcome.
