I have been employed with Verizon as a project manager within various software development groups. I’ve been working with this company since January, 1992.
I have a BA and an MBA both from George Washington University in Washington, DC.
I don’t believe I have ever donated to a political cause.
I have been on the HOA board for the Saddleback Ridge Condominium for about 4 years now. That is the only group I’ve been a part of.
I have little experience in this area as described above though my day to day work involves coordinating with a wide, diverse group of stakeholders.
I’m 60 years old now and I want to give back to the community which I dearly love.
Progress is accomplished by consensus and, generating agreement across various groups is what I’ve done for nearly 30 years in private practice. I look forward to working with various individuals with a different perspective. In terms of impartiality, I’ve been a registered Independent for a number of years, and perhaps this entire century. I refuse to be described by a label or to line up behind one political party. John Stewart Mill said truth is in the middle- right where I like to be.
I deal with complex issues within the telecommunication industry every day. Some of these decisions impact thousands of customers or can literally cost the company billions of dollars. Emotion, personal desire, and other considerations have to take a backseat to doing the right thing. Once the issues is understood, we typically explore the various solutions, their likelihood of success, etc., to come up with a recommendation. I don’t want to underestimate how difficult this can be, but in the end, it is a process. I hope this helps a bit.
